On 7th May at 7 a.m. we went on our first trip - Florence. The drive took us a little over 2 hours - at the start we had to go by train from Via Larga station to the Central Station. From there we took another train to Prato, from where we took the last train straight to Florence. To get to know the city better, you have to be in it for days, months, maybe even years... we had only one day. Florence delighted us with the richness of art, architecture and history. On our list of attractions were for example Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral, Santa Croce church, Uffizi gallery, Palazzo Strozzi dom Dantego, Ponte Vecchio - a bridge that connects the two beaches of the Arno river, cozy streets, old silk market and much, much more. Our guide - Miss Agnieszka, a Pole who lives in Toscania for years, told us about the secrets of Florence in a very entertaining manner and also encouraged us to visit her again. A legend says, that whoever pets the nose of a statue of a boar named Il Porcellino, will some time come back to Florence and will be greeted with a lot of luck. Then we had a chance to try italian cuisine in a cozy restaurant. At the end we had a little free time, so we could sightsee the city on our own, buy souvenirs and eat some more. Florence is a really beautiful city!
