The tasks of both groups consist of making dishes, servicing kitchen utensils, pretreatment of ingredients, caring about the estetics of served dishes and all around helping in the kitchen.
All of us learned modern techniques in the kitchen and we practiced making italian cuisine. Working in an italian kitchen allowed us to experience new tastes and ingredients. We also broke our language barriers, because communication in the kitchen with italian cooks is very important. The internship let us verify our practical and theoretical skills we were taught in school. Because of those classes we could do actual work, like checking the quality of products, correctly setting up the workplace, or showcase our skills of presentation of dishes. Of course, all of the tasks were done under the supervision of italian chefs and cooks, who teached us their tricks and helped with our assignments. We were also doing the job of waiters/waitresses, which helped us improve our communication with customers.
Working in a italian kitchen was amazing, it was a huge opportunity for self-improvement and getting new work experience!
